Welcome to James Monroe High School’s School for Advanced Studies Program.

Developed through the Humanitas model, Monroe’s SAS program offers the opportunity for engaging, hands-on learning meant to extend student achievement and prepare students for acceptance to the most prestigious colleges and advanced academic programs.
Monroe’s SAS Program will provide students the personal and intellectual foundations they need to achieve their immediate goals and to prepare for their rigorous academic futures. Through a creative, collaborative interdisciplinary approach to learning and centered in the student inquiry process, classroom instruction will offer contextualized, project-based learning opportunities for all students.
